With ‘Push and Shove’ set for arrival on Sept. 25, No Doubt have finally unveiled the complete track list for their super highly-anticipated sixth studio album via the band’s official website.
In the half-hour E! special where they premiered their new video for ‘Settle Down,’ all four members of No Doubt sat down for a chat with Ryan Seacrest, he of the Jennifer Lopez-is-leaving-’American Idol‘ scoop. The band spoke about having lots of children — their progeny equals nine at this point — and remaining in one another’s personal lives, despite their musical moratorium.
It’s been an awfully long wait between new albums for fans of No Doubt, who’ve had to make do with their old CDs and a 2009 tour to tide them over since the band last surfaced with ‘Rock Steady’ in 2001.
And that wait is about to get a little longer. The band has just dashed hopes that its next release would be in stores before the end of the year, admitting that “it’s just not ready yet.”
After walking into spiderwebs and being just a girl, No Doubt is back and ready for business.
According to Gwen Stefani, the band is working on a new album, but it isn’t as easy as pie. The group is ”desperate” to write good songs. “We wish we were good enough to craft it and have a vision, but our songwriting process is sort of desperate — we’re just praying that something comes out,” Stefani told Q magazine.
Although No Doubt hasn’t released a studio album since 2001′s ‘Rock Steady,’ the group hasn’t exactly been resting on their laurels. Singer Gwen Stefani has gotten hitched, had children, and released two wildly successful solo albums. Meanwhile, bassist Tony Kanal produced P!nk’s single, ‘Sober,’ drummer Adrian Young performed with Maroon 5 and Scott Weiland, and guitarist Tom Dumont produced Matt Costa’s debut album.
Now, however, the group is a mere two months away from finishing their sixth album. They recently previewed several songs for Rolling Stone and it seems their trademark Ska/reggae sound is intact, albeit with a few updates.
