Yesterday’s tornado near Wheatland, Wyoming damaged homes, out buildings, irrigation systems and even derailed a train. Wheatland Tornado Destruction Detailed

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Wheatland and central Platte County Thursday afternoon at 2:56pm. Trained weather spotters spotted a tornado to the southwest of Wheatland. Tornado Causes Injuries East Of Wheatland [GALLERY]

A 1/4 mile wide tornado touched down East of Wheatland, Wyoming earlier this afternoon. Initial reports from the National Weather Service and the Platte County Sheriff’s Office placed the tornado about 8 miles east of Wheatland at 3:15 PM. The tornado traveled west over I-25 and lifted about an hour later. Multiple injuries have been reported.
