The town is fending for themselves. The infected vampires are having a hard time adjusting to the limit of eating / sharing the humans.

Arlene and the others think they might be able to escape since the new reaper is a teacher who taught their kids. Tara's mom goes to check on Lafayette, but she is hung up on the idea of connecting to Tara's spirit. The whole town is cleaning up the restaurant and comes across a bunch of bodies in the freezer. Sam Merlotte is losing his cover and the town is close to turning on them and taking things into their own hands.

Sookie, Alcide, Sam, Jason and Andy go to search the nearby town of the girl they found in the woods. When they arrive at the town, it's completely empty with not a soul in sight until they find a mass grave with all the townspeople dead inside. Meanwhile, back in Bon Temps, everyone rushed to the police station to get all the weapons and they are clearly losing their s---.

Sookie has a flashback to when she first met Bill while reading a diary of the girl they found. Clearly, her feelings for Bill never went away. Tara's mom purposely burns her hands so she can drink more vampire blood a.k.a. "trip balls." Arlene’s plan to escape from the infected vamp nest is halted when the teacher who was going to get them out finally meets her own maker. Sookie reaches out to Bill for protection while Pam finds Eric who is looking very glum and might be infected with Hep V.

Until episode 3 ...
