‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ drops in theaters today (July 13), and with it, the Wanted‘s ‘Chasing the Sun’ serving as the theme song. The song just hit No. 1 on the Billboard radio dance charts, so it’s a pretty good weekend for the boys, in terms of career highs.

“When we first got into the music business, it was always an aspiration to have a song in a film. We still hadn’t made it through for a couple years and then ‘Ice Age’ came up with the opportunity and it was like, ‘Wow, that was great.’ We’re really thankful for it,” Tom Parker told Movie Fanatic about their partnership with the mega successful animated franchise. “I think it fits really, really well with what the scene is as well.” The song was penned before the boys were invited to team up with the film, but it just worked!

Parker also revealed that he considers ‘Ice Age’ character Scrat to be a kindred spirit.

He said, “I think everyone can relate to individual characters. I’ve been compared to Scrat several times at least during these interviews over the last hour-and-a-half, which I’m fine with. I think everyone can relate to every character.” That’s his fave character. Jay McGuiness prefers Diego; Max George likes Shira since she is voiced by Jennifer Lopez; Siva loves the mammoth since “he’s so big and nicely hung; and Nathan Sykes loves Sid the Sloth.
