Today's Throwback Thursday video is Black Sheep's 'The Choice Is Yours'. The hit single came out in 1991 and was released on the duo's 'A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing' album. Only one way to describe the song... a classic! Even to this day, if you play this song in the club on the anywhere on the east coast (especially New York City), the crowd still goes nuts. All it takes is the now famous, "engine, engine, number 9" lyric.

Black Sheep was made up of rapper Dres and disc jockey Mista Lawnge (pronounced: Mr. Long). They were part of the Native Tongue Family that included Hip-Hop heavyweights of that time period, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and Jungle Brothers. Were they differed from the others though, was they had much harder lyrics and different subject matter, which was in deep contrast to the more morally-set sound of the others.

Although, their debut album is one of my all time favorites, even to this day, Black Sheep never seemed to quite find the same success with later releases. Regardless, you still manage to hear this song in commercials (like this Kia commercial) and still banging out on the old school stations and club spots.
