No one was injured when a flatbed truck crashed into the Altitude Veterinary Hospital in the 3100 block of CY Avenue on Friday afternoon, Casper Police Sgt. Todd Wells said.

"CY is one big icy mess," Wells said.

The elderly driver was westbound on the road and lost control of the truck, which slid across the westbound lane, across the two eastbound lanes and into the building, he said.

The driver was wearing his seat belt, but that didn't help the veterinary hospital.

"There was significant damage to the building," Wells said.

Female employees inside saw the truck coming and were able to get away from the wall before the crash, he said.

Wells cautioned motorists that snow that falls on roads during the day turns to water, but then turns to ice at night. The ice is hard to see then because it is covered with more snow, Wells said.

"Slow down and realize it's happening," he said.
