Weird Al to Parody Iggy Azalea, Lorde + Robin Thicke on New Album
Weird Al Yankovic is back with a brand-new album, and in true form, is set to parody a number of pop hits on his upcoming record.
According to Stereo Gum, the curly-haired singer-comedian will poke a little light-hearted fun at Iggy Azalea's 'Fancy,' Lorde's 'Royals' and Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines.' The site lists the full tracklist of 'Mandatory Fun,' Weird Al's upcoming album, and believes that the songs called 'Handy,' 'Foil,' and 'Word Crimes' will parody Azalea, Lorde, and Thicke respectively.
As for the stars' own reactions to Weird Al's parodies, Iggy Azalea, for one, was pretty psyched about it.
"He's very nice, very sweet," Azalea told TMZ about meeting the famed parodist. "It's a pretty big mark of success if he really does the song."
And when asked if she thinks the tune will be bigger than 'Eat It,' his Michael Jackson 'Beat It' parody, the Australian rapper smiled: "I can only hope."
And as for what we hope … well, let's just say we wouldn't be opposed if Weird Al just so happened to throw in a little light-hearted jab at Robin Thicke's public attempts to woo back Paula Patton.
'Mandatory Fun' is set to drop on July 15. Check out the full tracklist below:
