A Wyoming man died late Tuesday after being thrown from his car in a rollover crash on Interstate 25.

Drew Weythman, 23, was not wearing his seat belt, according to a crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Weythman was northbound on I-25 in a 2014 Dodge Charger. At mile marker 164, Weythman failed to negotiate a slight left curve in the highway.

Based on evidence at the scene, troopers believe the Dodge drifted off the right side of the highway, as there were no indications of sudden steering input or an overcorrection.

After drifting off the roadway, the Charger traveled several hundred feet in the borrow ditch, ran through the right-of-way fence, went airborne and rolled numerous times.

The Charger rolled into a power pole and crossed an irrigation ditch before coming to rest in a field, where it caught fire and "was burned beyond recognition." Weythman was totally ejected during the rollover.

The highway was wet at the time of the crash, beneath overcast skies. Investigators list speed and driver fatigue as possible contributing factors.

"Toxicology results are pending on the driver to determine if alcohol and or drug use were contributing factors," the crash report concludes.
