When it comes to states managing their finances and the welfare of its people, how does this state stack up against the other 49?

Good. Really, really good!

According to Yahoo finance, Wyoming ranks #2 in the Best Run States in America.

2. Wyoming
> Debt per capita: $2,409 (13th lowest)
> Budget deficit: None
> Unemployment: 5.4% (7th lowest)
> Median household income: $54,901 (17th highest)
> Pct. below poverty line: 12.6% (13th lowest)

Wyoming was America’s biggest producer of coal and the 3rd largest producer of natural gas back in 2011. Other qualities reveal that mining summed up 28% of the state’s GDP in 2012.Top that off with a stable state economy, well educated adults with a good percentage of high school graduates and low unemployment and foreclosure rates back in 2012 and Wyoming is sitting pretty.

The best run state? North Dakota. The worst? No big surprise...California.
