I made the big mistake of licensing my vehicle around the holidays. It is not a good idea, because when it is time to pay for your renewal, you are already broke from the holidays. But, thankfully I got an older vehicle last year, and made sure not to get it licensed anywhere around expensive times of year. It turns out Montana is one of the least expensive states to own a vehicle. A recent study looked at all the costs a driver faces each year with their car. Coming out to an average of $3,742 per year. That includes everything from gas, insurance, maintenance, title fees, registration and even sales tax when purchasing the vehicle.
