My friend works for the forest service and goes into the woods for work for days at a time. He gets a chance to see some great wildlife, nature and flowers. The state flower for Wyoming is so alive right now and in full bloom in some areas.

The Indian Paintbrush, which has about 200 species is one of the more beautiful wildflowers in my opinion. They can vary in color and look but mainly red. It was adopted as the state flower in 1917.

The flowers of Indian paintbrush are actually edible, and were consumed by various Native American tribes mixed with other fresh herbs and greens.
