Here's some good news for high school students and their parents. According to a new study, Wyoming is tied for the fifth-highest median SAT score in the country.

2017's States With the Best and Worst School Systems compared public education in each state based on a variery of factors, including class sizes, dropout rates, student safety, teacher-to-student ratios and test scores

Wyoming ranked 8th nationwide for school funding and 18th in quality of education. However, our schools scored low marks for student safety, ranking 44th overall, with high rates of bullying and students who have been injured or felt threatened.

Massachusetts topped the rankings followed by New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hamspshire and Vermont. New Mexico's public schools ranked last, with the District of Columbia, Mississippi, Arizona and Alaska rounding out the bottom five.
