A woman died Sunday after being thrown from a vehicle in a rollover crash in northwestern Wyoming.

Sarah Williams, 43, was not wearing her seatbelt. Hers was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Williams was westbound in a pickup truck on WY 290 near Meeteetse at about 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, when the pickup drifted off the right side of the highway.

Once the passenger-side tires were off the road, Williams overcorrected to the left. The pickup went back onto the roadway and crossed to the other side.

When the vehicle was completely off the highway on the left side, Williams again overcorrected, this time back to the right.

The pickup started to rotate clockwise before rolling about two and a half times. It came to rest on its roof, facing north.

Williams was thrown from the pickup as it started to roll. She came to rest about 26 feet west of the vehicle.

The road was dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash. The Patrol does not list any contributing factors in its crash report.
