University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced Monday that Larry Shyatt has decided to step aside as head coach of the Cowboy basketball team.

The 2013 University of Wyoming Football season is right around the corner, and the UW Athletics Department is offering a number of different ticket options to fit the needs of individual fans and their families. Fans may begin ordering single-game tickets and three-game mini-packs Friday, July 26, beginning at 5 p.m., Mountain Time, through the official University of Wyoming Athletics Website at www.gowyo.com/tickets.

Results of an internal University of Wyoming inquiry into allegations that women’s volleyball student-athletes received impermissible benefits have been submitted to the NCAA.

The renovation of the University of Wyoming’s Arena-Auditorium has received a great deal of support from a special group of individuals over the past several weeks. The Wyoming Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes is making preparations for a second “Wyoming in Haiti” trip, set to take place May 11-17. This marks the second-straight year the FCA has organized a trip to the island to help Haitian youth.

For the first time in her career, senior Chaundra Sewell has been selected to the 2013 WBCA Division I Coaches’ Honorable Mention All-America Team. She is one of four Cowgirls in school history to earn the honor and the first since 2008.

The Wyoming Cowboys conducted their second spring practice on Wednesday morning with the emphasis continuing on fundamentals and increasing the pace of practice. Fifth-year Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen liked the improvement of his team from day one to day two of spring drills, but still emphasized after practice the need for his team to continue to improve each and every day of the Cowboys’ 15 spring practices.

For the first time in her career, senior Chaundra Sewell was among four individuals selected to the WBCA All-Region VII Team announced Tuesday by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. This is the first time a Cowgirl has garnered this honor since Hanna Zavecz in 2008.

The University of Wyoming men's basketball team has earned a second-straight postseason berth for just the 11th time in program history, as the Cowboys accepted an invitation on Sunday to play in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) presented by Buick. UW will face Lehigh on Tuesday at 7 p.m. MT in Wyoming's Arena-Auditorium.

A clutch pass and a pair of free throws from Chaundra Sewell helped the Wyoming Cowgirls pull out a 66-65 down to the wire win at Nevada Wednesday night in Reno. It marked the sixth straight win for UW in conference play. Sewell led four Cowgirls in double figures, as she recorded her ninth double-double this season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

University of Wyoming head football coach Dave Christensen announced Wednesday new coaching and administrative responsibilities for members of his football staff, including the official hiring of three new assistant coaches. One of the key changes is that Christensen will call the plays on game day for the Pokes.
