Drake made headlines this year when he got into a champagne-throwing brawl with Chris Brown at New York hotspot W.i.P. The club owners eventually filed a $16 million lawsuit against the crooners for the damages they have caused. Now Drake wants a judge to dismiss the owners' lawsuit.

According to TMZ, Drizzy filed a countersuit against Entertainment Enterprises in response to their suit that he and Brown ruined the club's reputation after their brawl. However, Drake maintains in his claim that he isn't responsible for W.i.P.'s bad publicity since the club had a bad rep way before he even step into the door.

To support his argument, the 'Take Care' rapper cited a New York Times story which describes the nightclub has having a "history of violence and other problems." In addition, the club had its liquor license suspended in the past due to "a string of violent incidents" and that cops had to close down the venue in 2011.

Drake and Brown will not face any criminal charges for their skirmish at the club, which left several people severely injured. Among the pending lawsuits filed after the fracas includes one from NBA star Tony Parker against the nightclub, and another from a male model who injured his hand during the melee.

Lawyers for both Drake and Entertainment Enterprises (which also owns neighboring club Greenhouse) had no comment on the legal matter.
