LARAMIE -- It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks for former Wyoming linebacker Easton Gibbs.

After receiving his pink slip in Seattle on July 31, the undrafted rookie was quickly scooped up by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Just a dozen days later -- and one preseason game in the Steel City in the books -- Gibbs was again waived.

The California product was again signed by the Seahawks last Wednesday, becoming the 18th UW alum to belong to an active roster this preseason. Gibbs suited up and tallied three tackles in his Seattle debut Saturday night in Nashville. The Titans squeaked out the 16-15 victory.

The Pokes in the pros have been busy. Check out the stats these guys have racked up so far:

Tyler Hall - CB - Philadelphia Eagles

This former Wyoming cornerback is heading to the Injured Reserve list for the Eagles and his date for return is currently unknown. Hall signed in Philly last March after spending the previous two seasons in Las Vegas. Tyler Hall played at Wyoming from 2016-19, tallying 107 tackles and picking off four passes.

Andrew Peasley - QB - New York Jets

A week after throwing for 73 yards and a touchdown in a win over visiting Washington, former Wyoming quarterback Andrew Peasley completed 7-of-11 throws for just 33 yards in a 15-12 victory Saturday night at Carolina. Peasley, an undrafted free agent, carried the ball four times for 25 yards, including a scamper for 10 yards on a 3rd-and-9 in the second quarter.

Xazavian Valladay - RB - New York Jets

It's not been an ideal start to the preseason for the second-leading rusher in Wyoming history. Xazavian Valladay, a week after rushing for just 11 yards on eight carries, amassed six yards on three carries in the Jets road win over the Panthers. He also snagged a pass out of the backfield for a modest 4-yard gain.

Solomon Byrd - DE - Houston Texans

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end blew around the right edge and strip-sacked Giants' QB Tommy DeVito late in the fourth quarter of a dominant 28-10 Texans win Sunday in Houston. Solomon Byrd, who played for the Pokes from 2018-21 before capping his collegiate career at USC, landed his first NFL sack, tackle and forced fumble in the victory.

Ayir Asante - WR - New York Giants

The New Jersey native returned a kick for 29 yards in the Giants lopsided loss Sunday in Houston. Ayir Asante didn't record a catch from the wide receiver spot. Asante, who spent the first four years of his collegiate career at Holy Cross, suited up at UW last fall, snagging 20 passes for 346 yards and six touchdowns.

Carl Granderson - DE - New Orleans Saints

The Sacramento, Calif., product registered half-a-sack and two tackles in the Saints preseason opener. In Sunday's 16-10 road loss to the Niners, Carl Granderson finished with one tackle. That was a quarterback sack of Brock Purdy on San Francisco's second drive of the night.

Mike Purcell - DT - New England Patriots

Mike Purcell tallied two tackles in last Thursday night's 14-13 home loss to the Eagles. Purcell, who played the previous five seasons in Denver, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent this summer. Purcell played for Wyoming from 2009-12.

Marcus Epps - S - Las Vegas Raiders

This former walk-on at Wyoming capped his Sunday afternoon with four tackles from the Raiders secondary in a 27-12 home loss to the Cowboys. Marcus Epps made one solo stop, flying in from center field to cut down Dallas running back Royce Freeman.

Tashaun Gipson - S - Jacksonville Jaguars

The longest-tenured former Cowboy in the NFL, was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, returning to a place he spent three seasons at between 2016-18. He will miss the first six games of the season after testing positive for violating the league's performance enhancing substances policy. Gipson spent the previous two seasons in San Francisco.

Chad Muma - LB - Jacksonville Jaguars

Chad Muma tallied a team-high four tackles -- three solo stops -- Saturday night in a 20-7 home victory over Tampa Bay. The third-year linebacker has six tackles through two games this preseason. Muma played at Wyoming from 2018-21.

Andrew Wingard - S - Jacksonville Jaguars

This former Wyoming safety will miss the entire preseason and likely the first few regular-season games after suffering a knee injury in training camp. Andrew Wingard, who is entering his sixth season in Jacksonville, has 247 tackles under his belt to go along with five interceptions.

Frank Crum - RT - Denver Broncos

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound undrafted free agent helped lead the Broncos to a 27-2 victory over visiting Green Bay Sunday night in Denver. While it was a shaky appearance for the Laramie native at times, Crum helped pave the way for a 109-yard day on the ground for Broncos' ball carriers. The Denver line also allowed three sacks, one of which was credited to Crum.

Treyton Welch - TE - Cleveland Browns

Treyton Welch, a Minnesota native, snagged his first-career NFL catch Saturday night in a 27-12 loss to the visiting Vikings. Welch, who played at Wyoming from 2019-23, hauled in a 22-yard pass on a 4th-and 2 early in the third quarter. Welch also added another catch for four yards.

Logan Wilson - LB - Cincinnati Bengals

Logan Wilson didn't play in Saturday's 27-3 road loss to the Bears inside Soldier Field. In fact, don't expect to see much of the Casper product this preseason. An established middle linebacker, "The Governor" is coming off a 135-tackle campaign.

Jacob Hollister - TE - Carolina Panthers

A week after snagging two passes in his Panthers debut, Jacob Hollister was held off the state sheet in Saturday's 15-12 setback against the visiting Jets. Hollister has 83 career catches for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.

Josh Allen - QB - Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen didn't appear in Saturday night's sloppy 9-3 road victory. With a steady rain coming down in the Pittsburgh area, the seventh-year pro played it safe. The 6-foot-5, 237-pound gunslinger has thrown for 22,703 yards and 167 passing touchdowns in his first six seasons under center in Buffalo. He's added 53 scores on the ground.

Azizi Hearn - CB - New England Patriots

Azizi Hearn registered one tackle Thursday night in the Patriots 14-13 home loss to the Eagles. Hearn, who played at Wyoming from 2019-21 before capping his career at UCLA, spent last season in Las Vegas.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
