Wyoming’s Josh Allen Featured in New Gatorade Commercial
LARAMIE -- Seeing Josh Allen featured in a national commercial is nothing new.
The former Wyoming quarterback has endorsed Frito Lay, Gillette razors, Verizon, Buffalo Wild Wings FanDuel and Pepsi, among others. The current Buffalo Bills star was also the face of Madden '24.
So, what makes this latest spot so special?
Recognize that voice?
Imagine if someone told Allen that the great Michael Jordan would one day narrate a commercial he was in?
While this video doesn't show Allen sporting any Wyoming gear, it does feature video of him slinging for his high school team in Firebaugh, Calif. It also shows him wearing a nameplate that says "under recruited."
Boy, isn't that the truth.
Allen famously sent out emails and video links to more than 1,000 college head coaches. One answered: Craig Bohl. Allen came to Laramie after one season at Reedley Community College and proceeded to throw for 5,066 yards and 44 touchdowns in just two seasons under center. He added a dozen more in the running game.
He also led the Cowboys to a Mountain Division title and a berth in the 2016 Mountain West championship game.
The future No. 7 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Allen has since become one of the best QB's in the league. In parts of just six seasons, the 6-foot-5, 237-pounder has amassed 22,703 passing yards and 167 touchdowns through the air. He has added 53 more scores on the ground to go along with 3,611 rushing yards.
