PBS Books’ Reading Road Trip Stop In Wyoming Is Live
Something that many people in the US don't know is how extraordinary and talented our art scene is in Wyoming, especially in the writing and illustrating departments. The number of books and stories that have been inspired by the landscape, history, and Wyoming way of life is incredible.
Writers like Ernest Hemingway, Craig Johnson, C.J. Box, Owen Wister, Annie Proulx, and children's author Casey Rislov have all drawn from Wyoming's energy to produce some of the most influential works of written art in the country.
Many of these talented authors will be part of the PBS Books stop in Wyoming, which is streaming live right now on the PBS Books Facebook and YouTube Channels, or you can scroll down to the bottom of this page to watch it here.
I've been fortunate to become close with Wyoming-influenced books, Rowdy Randy & A Home For Steamboat author Casey Rislov, and illustrator Zachary Pullen over the last few years.
They've been an integral part of displaying Wyoming's talent. From winning multiple National awards, representing 'A Home for Steamboat' in Washington, D.C. at the National Book Festival, and now being a part of 'A Reading Road Trip with PBS.
Casey and Zak have become a significant piece of Wyoming's historic puzzle.
Just like the vast & stunning landscapes of Wyoming, these views inspire my creativity along with stories from the past.
It is an honor to be following in the legacy of storytellers. A literary lineage that includes names like Owen Wister and Ernest Hemingway to current authors like C.J. Box and Craig Johnson.
CJ Box and Craig Johnson have endorsed Zak Pullen’s and my recent books of “The Rowdy Randy Wild West Show” and ‘A Home for Steamboat” with praise. We are honored to be a part of a Wyoming’s network that builds one another up.
You can witness and learn about Wyoming's influence on the world of books by checking out the next stop on A Reading Road Trip: Wyoming.
