Sheridan and Cheyenne Win Big Games On Day Two Of The 2025 Wyoming Legion Baseball AA State Tournament [PHOTOS]
Six teams remain at the Wyoming American Legion Baseball AA State Tournament in Cheyenne. Day two saw two teams eliminated, and two teams advance to the winner's bracket semifinal on Wednesday at Powers Field. The Laramie Rangers, Cheyenne Hawks, Sheridan Troopers, and Cheyenne Sixers were the four teams who posted wins on Tuesday.

Sheridan and Cheyenne will square off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a spot in the state championship game. The Troopers rallied to beat the Gillette Riders, 2-1, on Tuesday. Gillette scored on a bases-loaded walk in the third inning for a 1-0 lead. Sheridan broke through in the sixth inning. Ethan Araas tied the game on an RBI double to left field, and the Troopers took advantage of an error that plated the go-ahead run. Will Greer held the Riders scoreless the rest of the game, while Gunnar Lamb got the last out on a pop-up. Greer allowed one run on two hits over 6.2 innings pitched. He struck out three and walked five. The Cheyenne Sixers came back from a 3-0 deficit in the first inning to beat the Casper Oilers. The final was 5-3. Cheyenne tied it in the third inning. They took the lead with two runs in the fifth inning on a wild pitch and Colin Crecelius' RBI single to right field. Braden Pearson blanked Casper after a rough first inning.
In the two elimination games, Laramie got past Rock Springs, 10-5. The Stallions tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth, but the Rangers took the lead back with two runs in the bottom of that frame. Laramie added five more runs in the sixth. The Cheyenne Hawks and Jackson Giants were in a pitcher's duel for four innings. The Hawks broke through with five runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth inning. Kayden Tafoya had three hits, including a triple, and two RBIs. Caleb Moore added two hits and two RBIs. Alex Vines allowed one run on no hits over 5.1 innings pitched. He struck out seven and walked five batters.
Wednesday's action begins at 12:30 p.m. with the Cheyenne Hawks facing off against the Gillette Riders in an elimination game. That's followed by another loser-out contest between the Casper Oilers and Laramie Rangers at 3:30 p.m.
