Several things could cause a break like this.

It's simply unsustainable and not to mention dangerous for our Wyoming wildlife. (Wywindhere).
Reasons for broken wind turbine blades include fatigue damage from wind, lightning strikes, blade edge erosion, and icing.
There is certainly enough of all of that in Wyoming.
The Wywindhere Facebook page is not exactly friendly towards wind turbines.
They point out numerous problems including bird and bat deaths.
Another Facebook site, Albany County WY For Smark Energy Development posted the following.

They have also included news articles and videos showing how wind farms go out of business as soon as the subsidies run out.
Local utility rates do not decrease with wind farms but increase.
“Wind turbines cause earth temperature increases at the earths surface” so much for assisting in the fight against global warming.
Wake up Wyoming we are already high desert.
Push your Govenor, Industrial Siting, County Commissioners to say NO to out of state and out of country companies before there is no more Wyoming, no more wildlife, no more eastern section of the Rocky Mountains left!
But the site is not all one point of view.
Detractors and supporters of wind farms often post counterarguments on the page where the debate rages.
