Where Exactly Was The Forest Fenn Treasure Was Found?
We are a little bit closer to knowing where that famous Forest Fenn treasure was found.
But not exactly.
Famed art and antiquities collector Forrest Fenn previously claimed the man who found his hidden treasure had found it where he hid it— in Wyoming.
But he would not give the name of the man who found it or where the treasure had been hidden.
Mr. Fenn had filled a bronze chest with gold, jewels, and other valuables worth an estimated $2 million and hid it a decade ago somewhere in the Rocky Mountain wilderness.
We now know that Jack Stuef, 32, a medical student from Michigan, found the famous Fenn fortune believed to be worth more than $1 million.
Fenn had posted clues to the treasure’s whereabouts online and published a 24-line poem in his 2010 autobiography “The Thrill of the Chase.”
In a recent episode of "Expidition Files with Josh Gates," on the Discovery Channel, it was revealed that a series of lawsuits had taken place over who had really broken the code of the poem and how.
As those lawsuits drew to a close, Fenn was required to reveal the exact location of the treasure.
But that was shut down by an injunction filed by YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK.
The park wanted to keep the exact location a secret, so curious tourists would not mob the area.
Yellowstone makes sense in a lot of ways.
One of the lines in the poem reads, "Begin where the warm waters end."
Many places in Wyoming have warm thermal waters. Yellowstone is one of them.
So if you were wondering exactly where the treasure was, you might just be one step closer.
As for the exact spot, maybe someday it will be revealed, but not today.
