WATCH: Lone Woman’s Daring Wyoming Mountain Trek
Earlier this year a young lady began a journey from the most southern part of the Rockies to where it joins the USA and Canada.
She's hiking the entire thing.
That task is hard for many reasons.
One of the toughtest is that there is not a single clear trail all the way up. She will have to take back roads and whatever else she can find to complete this task.
She is not the only hiker to ever attempt this.
The videos below were chosen to highlight her journey through Wyoming.
Crossing into Wyoming, she has help from people she knows out in this area.
These are the Snowy Range mountains and more.
A time to rest before the push through the basin.
Not all sections of the Rocky Mountain chain are filled with all sharp peaks.
In this next video, she works her way up from the Wyoming, Colorado border through a slightly boring basin.
The basin is hard as it is hot and dry.
Life will be harder again as she climbs the Wind River chain in a later video.
This next video begins with her showing us a friend that she has made.
It's not human.
She is just south of Rawlins and in need of a shower and some rest.
Traveling through private land is the topic of the next video. In most cases, she is allowed to do i,t but she must follow the rules.
The next video begins just north of Rawlins.
Still in the basin, closing in on the Wind River Range
The state of Wyoming leaves notes and water for hikers who are walking way out here.
Now she begins her climb into the Wind River Range.
She shows us how hard this kind of hiking is.
It gets harder as she tries to leave Wyoming.
In the next video, she has been up in the Wind River Range for 3 days.
Hiking is taking a physical and emotional toll.
Next is day 4 of the Wind River Range.
It needs to be her last day up there or she will run out of food.
This area does not have much for trails.
She spent hours walking over huger rocks to get a short distance.
Day 5 in the Wind River, and she must climb down.
She reaches 12,000 feet.
No trail, lots of snow, and rock to deal with.
Off the Wind River Range and down into rain, lightning, and hail.
She was considering calling for a ride, but she pushed on.
She is now closing in on the last row of mountains before exiting Wyoming.
But that does not mean that she will be done with this state soon.
Close as the crow flies, but there is a lot of up and over.
More mountain climbing and loose rocks.
No trail to speak of.
She has to navigate the hard way.
We now wait to see her videos that lead us out of Wyoming and up north to Canada.
