UNDATED (AP) — Thomas Vokoun (voh-KOON') made 20 saves to earn the shutout and picked up his first assist as Pittsburgh blanked Winnipeg 4-0 in a battle of two of the top teams in the NHL. The victory extends the Penguins winning streak to 14, three short of the NHL record.

Pascal DuPuis (pas-KAHL' doo-PREE') had a pair of goals for the Penguins who also got one from Evgeni Malkin in his return to the line-up. It was his first since March 4. Chris Kunitz scored his 20th of the season.

In other NHL play;

— Phoenix erupted for five goals in a 6:40 span during a six-goal first period and went on to beat Nashville 7-4. The Coyotes snapped a seven-game losing streak during which they scored one more total goal than they did in the win. Radim Vrbata (rah-DEEM' vuhr-BAH'-tuh) scored twice for Phoenix.

— Antii Niemi made 27 saves for his second shutout in two nights as San Jose won their third straight game in regulation, beating the Detroit Red Wings 2-0. Joe Pavelski and Brent Burns each scored for the third consecutive game for the Sharks, who are on their longest winning streak since starting the season with seven straight wins.

— Ben Bishop made 24 saves for his second career shutout as Ottawa stopped the Rangers 3-0.

— Daniel Sedin (seh-DEEN') had the go ahead score in a three-goal third period to lift Vancouver past Colorado 4-1. Vancouver has not lost in regulation to the Avalanche since Oct. 2009, going 18-0-2 in that stretch.

— Mike Richards scored the go ahead goal with just under three minutes to play and Los Angeles went on to beat St. Louis 4-2 for their eighth straight win over the Blues.

— Joffrey Lupul scored the go ahead goal with just over three minutes to play and Toronto added two more in the final minute for a 6-3 win over Carolina.

— Josh Bailey scored the winning goal in the shootout to give the Islanders a 4-3 win at Philadelphia. Colin MacDonald tallied twice for the Islanders in regulation.

— Ales Hemsky's go-ahead goal with just over three minutes left vaulted Edmonton past Columbus 6-4.

— Mike Santorelli's shootout goal was the difference as Florida topped Buffalo 5-4.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The already loaded Pittsburgh Penguins got stronger in the wee hours of Thursday morning when the completed a trade with Calgary for Jerome Iginla. The six-time all-star agreed to the deal after initially okaying a trade to Boston.

The 35-year old Iginla join a team has a star-studded line-up that includes NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and all-star James Neal among others.

Iginla is not expected to suit up for the Penguins until Saturday night.
