Crime of the Week

Sometime in the evening hours of January 7th, 2017, numerous vehicles that were parked in the Casper Event Center parking lot were broken into and had items taken out of them.

Over the past few months, there have been several counterfeit bills passed in the Casper area. The Casper Police Department would like to remind people to check your currency when you receive it.

There have been a high number of hit and run traffic accidents recently. These accidents have forced several victims to pay insurance deductibles and expensive repair bills that should have been the responsibility of the suspect driver.

On November 20th, at 4:42 in the afternoon, a suspicious fire occurred at 920 West Midwest Avenue. The fire was started in the interior of the building.

Sometime in the late evening hours of October 2nd, an unknown subject stole a purse out of a vehicle.

Sometime between 11:30 at night on October 22nd and 1:30 in the morning of October 23rd, a newer Ford F150 two tone, grey pickup struck multiple vehicles in the parking lot of 5240 Blackmore Road.

Halloween is an exciting time of the year for children. Take a moment to consider some basic safety precautions to help make this Halloween a safer night of fun for all.

Over the past few weeks, several motorcycles have been stolen in the Casper area. These motorcycles have been in the back of truck beds, on trailers and also parked in front of residences.

On July 29th, an unknown white female re-used the lost check of an elderly blind woman to purchase items at the east side Wal-Mart. The check, which was originally written for $10.33 was changed to read $183.77.

On Saturday, August 20th, at approximately 5:50 in the morning, an unknown GMC vehicle struck the rear end of a black 2013 Ford Taurus, parked in front of 165 Indian Paintbrush.

Sometime between July 22nd and August 2nd, a silver and white 1988 Honda CRX was stolen from the 600 block of West 11th Street.

On August 13th at approximately 1:24 in the morning, officers responded to 125 E. 2nd Street, Lou Taubert’s Ranch Outfitters, for a business burglary. Upon arrival, officers found glass broken out of one of the front doors of the business.
