A lawyer for Donald Trump said Thursday he's been told that the former president has been indicted in New York on charges involving payments made during the 2016 presidential campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter.
The release said that the suspect, in addition to the active warrants and the fact that he was driving with a suspended license, was arrested for felony eluding, numerous traffic violations, and possession of a controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine.
The case started in 2016 when federal agents identified cash-down purchases of $10,000 or more on vehicles, found suspicious cash deposits, and other evidence.
