Furious 7 had one of the biggest box office openings of all time last weekend, earning a jaw-dropping $392 million worldwide. Somehow, Universal’s silly car-racing franchise has officially grown up and has the monetary clout to stand alongside the biggest movies of all time. So yeah, of course everyone wants a Fast and Furious 8, but fans hoping for a quick turnaround need to get comfortable. The next film is stuck at a red light and it’s going to be a little while before it turns green.

If you go see Furious 7, there’s a lot to enjoy. From cars parachuting out of airplanes to Vin Diesel and Jason Statham fighting to The Rock walking down a city street shooting a helicopter out of the sky with a giant gatling gun. Earlier this week, it was reported that Justin Lin was being courted by Universal to return to the ‘Fast and Furious’ series after taking ‘Furious 7’ off and giving the director's seat to James Wan. It was also reported that his return would be be part of a two film “grand finale” that would send this beloved franchise driving off into the sunset. But that second part is just plain silly. After being teased in seven-second increments earlier this week, we have the first full, official trailer for the newly-titled 'Furious 7,' which wastes absolutely no time getting right into the bonkers action, with a car being parachute-dropped onto the road during one of the crew's missions, and Paul Walker's Brian being rescued from a harrowing episode on the edge of a cliff by Michelle Rodriguez. And that's only a fraction of what we see in this trailer.

Were it not for the untimely and tragic death of Paul Walker, 'Fast and Furious 7' would have been released this past July and probably would be making its way to DVD and Blu-ray within the next few weeks. But, the release date was pushed back to April 3, 2015 and, after some lengthy reshoots, we're finally ready to see the first footage from the film next week.
