The Natrona County Fire District recently announced that they were called to Independence Rock to perform a rope rescue of a woman who got stuck on the edge.

According to Casper Fire-EMS, crews were called out at roughly 5:30 p.m.

The Casper City Council agreed to look into using a sinking fund, which would set aside $5 million now, in order to pay for firefighter pensions over the next 20 years.

It was quite the scene outside the Hall of Justice in Casper on Wednesday, as various emergency units responded to reports of a suspicious package that was delivered to the courthouse.

Multiple teenagers were injured in a structure fire that occurred in Casper on Friday, March 4. Their injuries were so severe that three of the teens had to be transported to out-of-state children's hospitals.

Sublette County firefighters had to utilize snowmobiles and tracked vehicles in order to rescue the occupants from a burning cabin last week.

Despite challenges from the bitter cold temperatures, firefighters accessed the crawlspace area and extinguished the fire, which they determined to be caused by space heaters placed in close proximity to flammable materials.

The call came in at 12:20 p.m. Thursday.

The Casper Fire Fighters Association has set up two ways to donate.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.

For the time being, people should avoid the area to allow emergency responders room to work.

Additional firefighting resources have been ordered and a Type 3 incident management team will assume command of the blaze going forward.
