The Wyoming Department of Health announced that there is a rare human case of the pneumonic plague in Fremont County.

The case started when a customer in South Pass City reported that she saw her mail carrier discarding mail in a trash can in September.

As fall turns to winter, numerous animals are leaving their higher-elevation levels to prepare for the oncoming season. Because of this, they are traveling more than usual, and are crossing highways at a higher rate.

All tribal members and residents of the Wind River Indian Reservation remain under a stay-at-home order to limit the spread of COVID-19

So far, there have been 1,644 lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Wyoming. Twenty-four people have died from the virus.

The Wyoming Department of Health says COVID-19 can be transmitted by infected people who don’t yet have symptoms.

All 23 counties now have reported confirmed cases.

Three new cases in Natrona County were reported on Saturday.

This system was effective even though the information about the abduction was several days old before it was received by the Sheriff’s Office.
