high wind warning

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a high-wind warning for the area. It's expected to expire at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Impacted areas include Park, Converse, Platte, Carbon, Albany and Laramie counties.

A Wyoming Department of Transportation researcher's dashcam captured a semi being blown over on Interstate 25 south of Cheyenne Wednesday.

Specifically, Casper saw a peak wind speed of 88 mph.

The Casper Police Department reports that a structure collapse has shut down 13th Street near the area of Wyoming Boulevard and Coulter Drive.

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a high wind warning for the Casper area.

Wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible in Casper on Tuesday as the area is under a high wind warning.

Up to a foot of mountain snow combined with winds gusting as high as 50 mph could make for dangerous travel along portions of I-80 in southeast Wyoming tonight.

Winter weather has forced the closure or restrictions on a number of Wyoming's highways Wednesday evening.

The Weather Service says the winds will be roughest in east Casper.

That portion of Interstate 25 was closed to light, high-profile vehicles Saturday afternoon due to the extreme blow over risk.

Expect Southwest winds of 30mph to 40mph and gusts up to 60mph possible, especially on Outer Drive in Casper.
