The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says some Thursday afternoon storms in southeast Wyoming could be severe, featuring quarter-size hail and winds of up to 6 miles per hour.
The agency posted the following on its website:
Scattered thunderstorms will begin to spread across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle by this afternoon and evening...
The National Weather Service reports that although there will likely be warmer, dry days in the coming weeks, it is likely that cooler, wetter weather conditions will persist a little for a little while longer.
"This is great news for keeping fire weather at bay, but the threat of severe flooding continues."
