There is currently a power outage that is affecting Rocky Mountain Power customers on the east side of Casper, near the Kelly Walsh High School area.

According to a press release by the city of Casper, the Casper Family Aquatic Center will be closed for the foreseeable future due to a power outage.

Often times we go through our daily lives and miss out on some of the wonders and beauty that are right under our noses.

On-scene reports of a power outage near 1st Street and Center Street have been documented.

Casper College has sent out an alert to students saying that their phone lines are currently down.

Rocky Mountain Power in Casper updated their social media page on Friday, letting customers know that after a mid-morning outage, which affected nearly 7,523 customers (including K2 and its sister radio stations), power has now been restored.

Winds hit 86 mph at roughly 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service website.

More than 2,000 are without power as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to Rocky Mountain Power.

High winds are in the forecast for at least the next day.

The outages come as Casper's still-green trees are laden with snow from a winter storm that's moving through Wyoming.
