A 34-year-old Cheyenne man has been sentenced to 97 months in federal prison for access with intent to view child pornography.

A 37-year-old Cheyenne transient on the Wyoming Sex Offender Registry is facing a felony charge after reportedly once again failing to register.

Murray has an extensive criminal history which dates to 1984 and included crimes of resisting arrest, assault, theft, parole violations, drugs, obstruction, and sexual assault of a minor.

In 2016 the defendant was charged with sexual assault of a minor in the second degree, but the charge was ultimately dismissed when the District Court deemed the child incompetent to testify. Now he is facing the same kinds of charges, but with different alleged victims.

He originally pleaded guilty by reason of mental illness or deficiency.
