Casper residents have long found themselves the victims of a local gang of notorious criminals that are known to terrorize the streets of our fair city.

It was like a scene from West Side Story, except instead of the Jets and the Sharks doing battle over the love of Maria, it's the Thomas Gobbles Gang and a group of interlopers feuding over bird seed.

I happened to look out my window to see a gang of wild turkeys in my front yard. Then awkwardly stalking the large birds was my cat, Lenord. He might not be that smart.

A local resident, Nelli Jeanne Lucus, captured video yesterday of the wild turkeys causing a small traffic jam near the Center Street underpass.

Over the years, Thomas was accused of causing traffic jams, damaging gardens, chasing pedestrians, interrupting classes, harassing students and engaging in lewd displays of public affection with his girlfriend.

If you have never been terrorized by Thomas Gobbles and the Gobbles Gang, count yourself lucky. The wild turkeys have become more violent and aggressive as of late.

While Casper doesn't really have the convention style of street gangs, we do have a group of bullies that have been causing a ruckus on our streets.

These wild turkeys sure are getting brave.

Thomas Gobbles has long be a staple, and sometimes a thorn, in the side of Casper. However, it was reported last year that the original Thomas had perished. So what should we call the new bird?

We lost arguably Casper's most famous celebrity last year in Thomas Gobbles, but it appears his progeny are continuing on.
