Here's some good news for our furry friends and their loving owners. Wyoming has some of the happiest and healthiest pets in the country.

The Cowboy State  recently ranked eighth in a new study comparing the best healthcare for animals in America.

The rankings were based on four key factors, including pet related illnesses, where Wyoming finished 13th; access to veterinary clinics, where Wyoming ranked 8th; healthy environment, where Wyoming came in 12th place; and non-medical pet related expenses, where Wyoming finished 26th.

Montana ranked first in the study, followed by Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico and Idaho.

Mississippi was the least healthy state for pets. Alabama, Lousiana, South Carolina and Arkansas rounded out the five worst states in the study.
