
Boy Banned From Wearing My Little Pony Backpack Receives Outpouring of Support
My Little Pony is causing one big problem.
Grayson Bruce, a 9-year-old boy from Buncombe County, North Carolina, has been ordered by school officials not to bring his My Little Pony backpack to school anymore because it makes him a target for bullies.
Grayson said kids had taken to picking on him because he carries the 'girly' backpack:
They’re taking it a little too far with you know, punching me and pushing me down — calling me horrible names. Stuff that really shouldn’t happen."
Officials have told Grayson's mother he should stop bringing the bag to school because it has "created a disruption in the classroom."
When word about the controversy spread online, support for quickly Grayson popped up in the form of a Facebook page and a Change.org petition demanding the school reverse its decision.
As if that wasn't enough, Grayson also has the Navy in his corner:
