UPDATE (6:15 p.m.):

One man is in custody after Casper police responded to a report of a woman who was forced into a vehicle against her will Tuesday afternoon.

Lt. Jeremy Tremel of the Casper Police Department says the initial call came in at 3:30 p.m. The caller reported an altercation involving a woman ended with her being forced into a passenger van.

Police immediately began looking for the van, locating it at 4:13 p.m. and attempting a traffic stop on Poplar two minutes later.

The van, though, didn't stop. Police followed it to where it eventually stopped, in the 2800 block of Poplar.

A man was taken into custody -- technically not arrested at the time -- and a woman was taken to a hospital with injuries which Tremel said are not considered to be life-threatening.

Tremel said, in a phone call at roughly 6 p.m., that traffic had likely returned to normal. Poplar was initially blocked off at the intersection of College Drive.

The exact nature of the altercation remains under investigation. The names of people involved have not been released.

Tremel said police believe the man who was taken into custody is the only suspect. However, police are looking for someone who likely witnessed the incident.

A brief chase ensued Tuesday afternoon following a report of a woman being forced into a vehicle against her will.

Upon receiving the report, officers began searching for the suspect vehicle. They found it, but the vehicle took off and police gave chase.

The pursuit ended in the 2800 block of Poplar, and one person was taken into custody. Another was taken to a hospital for reasons that have not been disclosed. A resident reported one man was handcuffed while officers spoke to a woman.

Officers near the scene initially said a search was underway for a third person who ran off as the vehicle pursuit ended, but a lieutenant later said it was unclear whether another person was being sought.

Poplar remains blocked off at the intersection with 25th Street/College Drive as of 4:45 p.m.
