The undead rising from the grave scenario actually makes a great backdrop for any kind of catastrophe preparation, and many area residents are utilizing this scary scenario as a way to protect themselves from any emergencies that may arise, be it a tidal wave, earthquake, or something worse.

In a recent local emergency readiness and preparation conference (footage seen below), individuals shared simple methods in which to protect their families if a devastating event occurred in our area. Items like food, clothing, and water made the list of how to combat the elements in any disaster, among other essentials. And while the theme of flesh-eating zombies might be considered a bit extreme, it is always better to be safe than sorry.
