Couple Arrested for Child Endangerment with Methamphetamine

Casper Police on Thursday charged a man and woman with possession of methamphetamine and child endangerment with methamphetamine, according to affidavits filed in Natrona County Circuit Court.

Officers executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 1200 block of Boulder Drive where they saw Trae Derik Smith carry a puppy into the residence, and they also identified Roxanne Anderson, according to the affidavit.

Officers also saw a child sitting in a high chair by himself in the dining room area.

One officer followed Smith to a bedroom where Anderson was, too.

The officer saw Smith reach inside his shirt and pull out a black case. The officer collected the case and walked Smith to the living room.

A detective inspected the case and found two black pipes that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine, jeweler's bags with a white crystalline residue, a jeweler's bag with about a quarter gram of presumptive positive methamphetamine, and a straw with a crystalline residue.

SMith was placed in handcuffs.

Another officer saw a nightstand in the bedroom with a black pipe and red grinder, and an officer left to apply for a search warrant.

The Department of Family Service was notified.

The second search warrant was granted.

Police searched the residence and found a handgun, glass pipes that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, jeweler's bags, a pill of suspected promethazine,, and a small jar of marijuana shake.

Smith and Anderson were taken to the Natrona County Detention Center and booked on the charges of possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment with methamphetamine.
