Note to any prospective drug smugglers out there: it’s probably a really bad idea to advertise your profession on your car.

In a story proving that yes, people really can be that stupid, Washington state authorities who were tipped off late last year about possible smuggling activity in the area started watching a place called — seriously — the Smuggler’s Inn Bed and Breakfast, located in Blaine, near the Canadian border.

And lo and behold, what should appear but a black GMC Yukon bearing a personalized plate reading SMUGLER. Inside was 20-year-old British Columbia resident Jasmin Klair — along with nine bricks of cocaine in a box marked “Merry Xmas.”

But, like Jasmin herself, her holidays were not so bright. She was arrested and recently pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute, and is currently in jail awaiting sentencing.
