Five Ways To Celebrate Wyoming’s Birthday

This weekend marks the 126th anniversary of the Cowboy State. On July 10, 1890, President Benjamin Harrison officially signed the bill that made Wyoming the 44th state.

Here's five unique ways to celebrate Wyoming's birthday:

1. Get a Bucking Horse and Rider tattoo - There's no better way to show your love for Wyoming than branding yourself for life.

2. Take the ultimate Wyoming road trip - The Cowboy State is home to the first national park, the first national monument, miles of spectacular scenery and two escalators.

3. Abbreviate it correctly - According to the official A.P. Style Book, the proper way to abbreviate Wyoming is "Wyo", not our postal code, "WY".

4. Close your fence - Wyoming has some of the strangest laws in the country. For example, any person who fails to properly close a fence can be cited and fined. Another law to consider, it's illegal for anyone at least 100 pounds overweight to use public playground equipment.

5. Go to Jackson, stage your own fake disappearance and hope that Harrison Ford will rescue you - Not only is Harrison Ford one of Wyoming's most famous residents, the avid helicopter pilot has also assisted local authorities during several search and rescue missions in the area.
