‘Frozen’ Trailer: Disney’s Latest Tackles The Snow Queen
Walt Disney Animation has debuted the new 'Frozen' trailer, the film loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson's 'The Snow Queen,' and it seems like one "cool comedy."
Featuring 'Veronica Mars' star Kristen Bell as Anna and Broadway icon Idina Menzel as Anna's magically inclined sister, Elsa, 'Frozen' tells the tale of how the kingdom of Arendelle was trapped in an endless winter by Elsa's magic. Anna, being a fierce optimist, teams up with mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), his reindeer sidekick Sven and a funny snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad) to find her sister and end this icy spell.
We got a look at this film at the D23 Expo a couple months back, and there's plenty of music to be had, especially from Menzel. The star of the Broadway hit 'Wicked' blew away the audience when she belted out "Let It Go," her song for the film, live on the convention stage. When you have pipes like hers, you have to show them off. But expect at least one comedic song from Gad's Olaf, as well.
Disney's 'Frozen' hits theaters November 27.
