Over 200 Fans Celebrate Casey Bramlet Day With BGCCW
"Casey Bramlet Day" with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming was a success. The former UW Cowboy and professional football player was honored at an event in Casper ahead of his induction into the University of Wyoming Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame.
Bramlet will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Friday, September 5th, along with other Cowboy greats, Josh Allen (Football), Curtis Jimerson (Men's Basketball), Hugh Lowham (Wrestling), Mike Mulvaney (Baseball), Lori Kline Waddle (Women's Basketball), and John Wendling (Football).
Wyoming’s all-time career leader in passing yards, with 9,684, Bramlet started at quarterback for three years. He earned Mountain West all-conference second-team honors in 2001 and honorable mention honors in 2002 and 2003. A team captain in 2002 and 2003, Bramlet started 40 games at quarterback for Wyoming, including every game from 2001 to 2003. Bramlet still holds records at Wyoming for career pass attempts (1378) and career pass completions (767), and is second in career touchdown passes with 56.
Over 200 people attended the BBQ lunch and program to honor Bramlet's Wyoming legacy, on and off the field. Casper Mayor Ray Pacheco officially proclaimed the day "Casy Bramlet Day" in Casper.
The voice of the Cowboys, Keith Kelley, was the emcee guiding the crowd through a highlight tribute video featuring some of his former UW teammates, coaches, and his NFL agent.
The program also included live reflections from former UW legends, including Randy Welniak and Shawn Wiggins.
