Casper’s Urban Thistle Farm Having A Winter Market
It's the middle of winter, and when you go to the grocery store, you look at the produce available and just wish that you could get some fresh items. The problem, it's Wyoming, the middle of winter, and you don't have a greenhouse.
Oh, but wait.
Saturday, February 7, you'll have a chance to get some locally grown produce at the first-ever Urban Thistle Farm Winter Market in the lobby of the Wyoming National Apartments (204 E 2nd St Office, Casper) from 9 am to 1 pm.
The Urban Thistle Farm had a very successful 2025 and has worked to provide families with a solution to hunger.
Urban Thistle Farm is a dream cultivated by a small group of food justice warriors' intent on bringing a local solution to hunger to the Casper Community. Located in a food desert in North Casper, UTF has become a beacon of hope to the families and children fighting food insecurity.
The food on display and available at the Winter Market was grown, harvested, and prepared right here in Casper as part of the Casper Housing Authority's mission to grow good food and heal the community.
Urban Thistle Farm and local vendors will be offering a variety of products, including:
- Microgreens
- Salad Mix
- Pesto
- Green Tomato Jam
- Baked Goods
- Soaps
- House Plants
- and More!
It's been really exciting to see the progress and hard work the staff and volunteers have put in. If you're interested in seeing firsthand the fruits of their labor, or being a vendor at the first Winter Market, you can contact Urban Thistle Farm & Market on Facebook or via email HERE.
