Much of I-80 in Wyoming Closed Due to Weather, Rolling Closures

Hundreds of miles of Interstate 80 in Wyoming have been closed due to winter conditions and rolling closures.

Currently, the eastbound lanes between Rock Springs and Rawlins are closed due to rolling closure, both lanes between Rawlins and Laramie are closed due to winter conditions, and the westbound lanes between Laramie and Cheyenne are closed due to rolling closure.

As of 8 a.m., the Wyoming Department of Transportation estimated it would take crews five to seven hours to get the stretch back open.

Eastbound I-80 from Laramie to Cheyenne is also closed to all high-profile vehicles under 40,000 gross vehicle weight (GVW) due to extreme blow over risk.

Black ice advisories are also in effect between Exit 255 (Wyoming 72) and Exit 279 (Cooper Cove Road).

I-80 between Laramie and Cheyenne is now open to all traffic.
