UNDATED (AP) — The Pittsburgh Penguins needed overtime to pick up their 12th straight win and stretch their lead in the NHL's Eastern Conference to five points over Montreal.

Tyler Kennedy scored 2:33 into the extra session to complete the Pens' 2-1 comeback win over Philadelphia. The Flyers had a 1-0 lead until Sidney Crosby notched a power-play goal with 6:14 to play.

Also on ice, Jimmy Howard made 33 saves and Detroit picked up its fourth straight win by winning at Anaheim for the second time in three days, this time 2-1. Dan Cleary and Drew Miller scored first-period goals against the Ducks, who've lost consecutive games in regulation for the first time this season.

Bryan Little collected a goal and two assists in Winnipeg's 3-2 verdict over Tampa Bay. Defensemen Dustin Byfuglien (BUF'-lihn) and Tobias Enstrom also scored and Blake Wheeler picked up two assists as the Jets halted a two-game skid.

Calgary beat St. Louis 3-2 on Jarome Iginla's (ih-GIHN'-luhz) goal with 7:02 remaining. Roman Cervenka scored twice and Miikka Kiprusoff (MEE'-kuh KIP'-ruh-sahf) stopped 36 shots as the Flames ended a three-game losing streak

Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin (oh-VEHCH'-kihn) each scored once in regulation and once in a shooting as Washington outlasted the New York Rangers 3-2. Braden Holtby made 30 saves before stopping three of four Rangers in the shootout to secure the Capitals' third straight win.

Second-period goals by Mason Raymond and Alexandre Burrows gave Vancouver a 3-1 lead in a 3-2 triumph at Colorado. Cory Schneider made 26 saves in the Canucks' fourth straight win.

Andrew McDonald scored the game-winner in the first period and Evgeni Nobokov (nah-BAH'-kahv) stopped 26 shots as the New York Islanders blanked Florida 3-0 to salvage the finale of a four-game homestand. John Tavares and Casey Cizikas (sih-ZEE'-kihs) added emty-netters in the final minute to support Nabokov's third shutout of the season.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The Tampa Bay Lightning have fired coach Guy Boucher (gee boo-SHAY') 31 games into his third season. Tampa Bay is next to last in the Eastern Conference with a 13-17-1 record.

Assistant coaches Martin Raymond and Dan Lacroix will share coaching responsibilities for tonight's game at Winnipeg.

In other NHL news, New Jersey Devils star Ilya Kovalchuk will be out 2-4 weeks after hurting his right shoulder during Saturday night's game. Kovalchuk is second on the team with 10 goals and 27 points.

And Pittsburgh has traded Morrows with Dallas. The Penguins have acquired forward Brenden Morrow and a third-round pick in this year's draft for defenseman Joe Morrow and a fifth-round selection.
