Rihanna is happy and she’s single, thank you very much. The diva was hit with a question about Ashton Kutcher, whom she was rumored to be dating, while at a press conference for her film debut ‘Battleship’ in London. RiRi wasn’t having any of that, dismissing the question with sass. She was there to promote a professional endeavor — her first film — and she was not happy about being asked such a personal question.

According to AOL Music, a reporter asked if Kutcher, who is currently embroiled in a high-profile divorce with actress wife Demi Moore, would be joining her in London while she promotes the film. Rihanna labeled such a query “disappointing” and added, “I am happy and I’m single, if that is what you are asking.”

So she certainly did not add any fuel to the fire regarding the relationship rumors. She dismissed rather artfully. But does the lady doth protest too much?

We’ll point out that she did not deny it, but she did describe herself as single. So that means she isn’t seriously dating anyone. She could be hooking up with, you know, Kutcher. Calling herself “single” could stop the chatter that she is secretly seeing her ex Chris Brown or it could cause people to think she is trying to throw them off the scent. Maybe RiRi is a master of denial?

But we believe her. While RiRi did say a few months back that being single sucked for “her,” as she pointed to her nether regions, she is proof a women doesn’t need a man to be happy.

Rihanna plays Petty Officer Second Class Cora Raikes, a weapons specialist, in ‘Battleship,’ and that’s what she was focused on at the presser.
