Poplar Street

It has been a few years since the intersection of Poplar St. and CY Ave. was reconfigured. The new design is very helpful in many ways, but one lane seems to be the odd man out.

The project is expected to be completed by Oct. 31.

WYDOT expects the entire project, which includes installing sidewalks on the bridge, to be completed by Oct. 31, 2018.

Poplar St. in Casper is a busy street that runs North/South of almost the entire city of Casper. Occasionally you will encounter a pedestrian braving their way across the busy bridges in traffic lanes. Should there be sidewalks on these bridges?

Police say the man in his mid-sixties was struck by two vehicles while crossing Poplar Street.

The storm clouds sit perched atop Casper Mountain. The wind whips and spins the snow into a billowing fog that drapes the town. It is both beautiful and deadly.

The sinkhole started Tuesday as a hole about a yard in diameter, with dirt washed away from under the pavement that remained.

A sinkhole has appeared around the intersection of Poplar and 13th. Police have the area currently blocked off.

I have always thought the intersection at Poplar & Midwest needed a light there. I have seen quite a few accidents at that exact spot over the years and I think having the light there will (hopefully) rectify that. But after talking with a few different people, I found that everyone doesn't share that sentiment.
