Tupac Shakur has been dead for over 15 years, but at Sunday’s (April 15) Coachella Music Festival, the late rapper was resurrected for a rare concert appearance with fellow rappers Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The rap legend — in hologram form — was digitally recreated for Coachella, and it wowed thousands of concertgoers in attendance.

“What the f— is up Coachella!” the holographic Tupac yelled to the roaring crowd. From there the rapper performed ‘Hail Mary’ from his final album ‘The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.’ Tupac then brought out Snoop for a rendition of their duet song ’2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted.’ Afterward, Tupac raised the peace sign and disappeared in a digital oblivion.

Tupac returning from the grave to perform at Coachella was certainly one of the most surrealist moment in hip-hop history.

All and all, it was good to see Tupac Shakur perform if only for a brief moment.

Tupac’s resurrection wasn’t the only highlight of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s performance. Rappers 50 Cent (who performed ‘In da Club’), Wiz Khalifa (who performed ‘Young, Wild & Free’), and Eminem (who performed ‘Forget About Dre,’ ‘I Need a Doctor’ and ‘Till I Collapse’) all made guest appearances. Snoop Dogg also gave a touching tribute to his friend late crooner Nate Dogg.

It was nothing but a gangsta party at Coachella.
