The East Entrance and other roads into and in Yellowstone National Park will open Friday, weather permitting, of course, according to a news release from the park on Thursday.

However, expected warm and sunny weather will create significant avalanche danger, so Sylvan Pass on U.S. Highway 14 in the Absarora Range in the park will remain closed from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Park officials will closely monitor the conditions and additional closures may occur.

East Entrance to Fishing Bridge Junction opens at 8 a.m. Friday.

Likewise, Canyon Village to Fishing Bridge Junction opens at 8 a.m. Friday.

The Northeast Entrance to Cody via the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway -- Wyoming Highway 296 -- is open to vehicles.

Road information can be found on the park website. The map on that page, in addition to phone recordings, will be updated as conditions change.
