50 Random Wyoming Facts You May Or May Not Know
There are quite a few things I don't know about the state of my birth, but every chance I get I attempt to learn more. For instance, I was aware that the first J.C. Penney store opened in Kemmerer, Wyoming, by James Cash Penney in 1902 (which I didn't know when I was employed there in Flint, MI back in 2000). I also know why we're the "Equality State".
I didn't know however, the famous training scene from Rocky IV (which was supposed to be in the Soviet Union), was actually shot in Wyoming. The farm where Stallone trained was in Jackson Hole and some of the other outdoors shot were of the Grand Teton National Park.
I also didn't know we had a state dinosaur. It's the mighty herbivore, the triceratops, in case you were wondering.
There were a lot of awesome facts I didn't know as well, including some not so good college info concerning former vice president, Dick Cheney and the correct way to abbreviate Wyoming in press format (which Wyo, vice WY).
Definitely check out all 50 of the facts. Some may actually surprise you.
